I'm honored to be part of the company of the incredible Creatrices you named, Stephanie! I think your placement of the Creatrix as a bridge is such a powerful, brilliant concept. I'm excited to have this new language to use to describe what feels like a rich phase of life that is dripping with potential and hope.💚

Thanks, Lori. You get it. This juicy, creative and thriving phase deserves a positive name. It is, as you say, a powerful bridge. Cheers to potential and hope! Big hugs.

Hi Stephanie,

Wow, I learned a lot reading this. I was not familiar with the term "The Creatrix." I think women have always been the true shakers and movers of the world. The true instigators of change - albeit difficult at times. Even in 2024, we continue to struggle. The abortion issue is the glaringly striking example for me. How can it be that we are being denied autonomy over our own bodies? How can it be that another highly qualified woman is struggling (again) to win against a strikingly unqualified male candidate of the lowest caliber?

"The Creatrix invites us all to weave our own stories, to reclaim our agency, and to help shape the destinies of those who come after us. By reclaiming this myth, we not only honor the past but create a future filled with creativity, power, and purpose." I love that so much. It's a good reminder, too, of the responsibility we as women have to leave our marks.

Thank you for this thought-provoking piece. And I'll have to check out those Creatrices you mentioned. Of course, Beth is one of my favorites.

"I think women have always been the true shakers and movers of the world. The true instigators of change - albeit difficult at times. Even in 2024, we continue to struggle." I feel this way too, Nancy. I think these times are inviting us, calling us to stand in our power, to stand in the light of our truth, and the Creatrix has the energy to do that. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Big hugs.

I love the Creatrix, as it is my art name, the NM Creatrix, and my company name is Creativity Continuum. I am 74 and have used those names since I had my crowning at 50...

Stephanie....brilliant essay! Thanks for sharing. I'm, technically, in my Crone years, yet as a creative/artist, I continue to bring Creatrix energy into old age. And that's a good thing. It brings a purpose to everyday life, a hope I'm leaving something of worth to my family and possibly community and joy to my soul. So, perhaps, I'm a CC.....sub-stacking!!

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment. I stand with you, Jan. I too am in my Crone years, bringing the creative energy of the Creatrix years into my work. Also a "CC, sub-stacking!" (love that) The "purpose to everyday life," that one line touches and inspires me. I seek that too, in morning meditations tea cups and journals; in stories that are stored on a laptop; in living a creative and an examined life that fulfills as well as informs.

I love this. At age 50 I went back to grad school and became a therapist. I loved that field and really felt energized and just kinda came more fully into my own. Now at 75 (fully crone) I’m retired but engaged in writing poetry, something I’ve loved since childhood but now have time to devote myself to more fully. ❤️

Thank you for sharing a great Creatrix story. I'll bet you were a rock star in your graduate work. I've become more of a poet in my Crone years too, informed by more reflection and introspection. Big hugs.
